They have ruled that blatant scratching/holding of testicle is an act contrary to decorum and public decency.

After witnessing a man literally stroking himself inside his trousers on a packed bendy bus ...i must agree it is totally disgusting and indecent. His friend carried on chatting to him for the whole 25 minutes seemingly oblivious or ignoring the incident.

It makes me think that it is this kind of man who is unable to restrain himself in public that might be liable to predatory crimes such as flashing, stalking and raping.the other extreme could be that this is a comforting measure akin to sucking one's thumb......

Who knows......

 Comments

What a day!!!

Valentine's day was very interesting...It's amazing how much fuss is made about this one day, but it's also sad that some people feel incredibly alone and this day enhances that.

Literally, 2 mins walk from me is a railway station, probably the most useless in all of England as all the trains run straight through and it is never manned. On the bus approaching home from uni, i see police, ambulance and fire brigade crawling all over the place......whatever had happened, had only just happened...I imagined a train had derailed or a car had been hit on the track, but it turns out 2 fire engines, 4 police cars and 2 ambulance vehicles were the standard response for a "one under" as they say. The unloaded passengers all seemed abit miffed and a nearby shop owner who was near enough to hear expressed his sorrow at the "poor man/lady" who had apparently waited on the bridge and jumped in front of the train that was never going to be able to stop....What a desperate state to be in to do that!!

 Comments

the beginnings of a cold....

The weather is improving but my immune system seems to be crashing...I'm so tired lately i haven't the energy to write much (or anything) blogwise....

i feel a cold coming on

 Comments

congenital anomalies......

Yep, this is what my lesson today was on.....what a mouthful??

Our lecturer thought it necessary to warn us not too leave our handouts on the tube or train as it may affect non-medical people...she is a dear.

Lesson was very interesting not too shocking...in fact the body goes to amazing lengths to prevent these anomalies from being born...what we see in hospitals or in the outside world is perhaps less than the 30:1000 live births that make it through the security checks.

Minor anomalies include neonatal teeth, extra fingers (polydactly), extra nipple, dimples and flat feet, mongolian blue spots and hypospadias (usually a small hole along penile shaft-repaired using foreskin).

The great thing is that noone is perfect or symmetrical!! Whether you have one breast bigger than the other, uneven shaped eyes- whatever i all depends on your genes and maternal exposure to teratogens (e.g smoking, radiation, viruses, alchohol, drugs)

 Comments

Dissecting News......

In the news, very sad about spanish F1 fans....but having been to Madrid & Barcelona am not entirely suprised...mostly it is the proportion to which the disagreement between Alonso & Hamilton has influenced the fans which is shocking...guess it doesn';t take much for true feelings to be uncovered.....

Baby being thrown out of building....how amazing!! but did those people in the window get out aswell??? did they jump or get lifted?? and if lifted why risk killing the baby??- I hope the news fills me in on this....

Breakfast was a coffee on the go...one of my last as i've decided to give it up for Lent. I've chosen it because i hav it every single day and i will miss it. I wanted to challenge myself and build some determination and stamina....Hopefully i can do it & if so i can use the same skill to focus and write as i say i want to (still procrastinating!).

I attempted to make pancakes when i got back from uni but miscalculated how much of everything- based on my friend's vague recipe " milk, flour, eggs and milk- not too runny not too thick"....This meant i only ended up with 4 pancakes of varying shapes and sizes. I'd used my last egg so will have another go when i have time. tasted ok though

Wierdest memory:
Lying on my bed-hairs on edge as a electrical storm lit my room blue.

The biggest amount of cash i ever held in my hands:
£30,000 (counted out for a customer to be posted special delivery!!!)

The longest i ever slept:
18 hours

The longest i kept awake:
About 48 hours

Or perhaps just over stimulation (not the good sort though). I went to check Catzycradle's moon chart but it didn't shed any light.

Breakfast was 2x variety sized frosties and coffee with water so i had a good start to the day yet feel sort like i'm in a persistent hungover state....the awful thing is, this is without the enjoyment of actually drinking.....hmmmmmm (disturbing just a tad)

Other news, i am going to see Sweeney Todd tonight with a gal pal (invited a second only to be casually texted " i'm in Australia- let's meet up when i get back" - so an early nite for me as have work at 7.30 and am duty bound to save the lives of fellow londoners by turning up (i'll save my sick days for a better cause)

Is your Friday evening looking more interesting???

 Comments

Thoughts on I am Legend

Very belatedly i saw the above last night.....I had no idea it was a horror of sorts...I dont want to spoil things for those who have yet to see it but the faint/weak hearted should becareful.....It is like Jurassic Park in places...almost leaving me with a heart attack...other than that i thought it was ok, maybe ***'s.

Afterwards, went to a lovely Thai palce called YUM YUM- the food and decor were absolutely fabulous and i am determined to have either my birthday or Hen party there. If you are ever in stoke Newington- you really must go...**** 1/2 ( sometimes you can be a little too attentive)

Other than that....a very dreary, windswept and boring day for me.

 Comments

Tuesday is the new Monday????

Most people seem to dread going back to work on Monday having got a bit too attached to the weekend......I seem to have a delayed body clock and today, i experienced all the lazyness, dread and tiredness normally associated with Mondays....what a bummer!!!!

I did however manage to drag myself out of the house to the hairdressers, clutching my sunglasses and dodging speed hungry drivers on the A406- evidently, it is easier for me to summon up the energy to be pummelled senseless, blasted by hot air and have my faint (but not faint enough) moustache ripped from it's roots than it is for me to attend uni for 3 hours.

While i remember, i would just like to do a nursey thing and ask you all to wear protection while fornicating (oh, that word kills me)...my friend (let's call her ,Cara) from Cameroon told me a disturbing tale yesterday, Her friend (let's call her Charity) died of AIDs two months ago but before this had been living with her. Angry at being HIV +. Charity had slept her way through Germany , Greece and Cameroon before coming to Hackney, London.....single men and married men too!! Cara told her many times to stop her wicknedness but the woman was apparently amoral...eventually, Cara Kicked Charity out when she began sleeping with a close married male friend- she tried to warn him but he said he was jealous!!!

I was really freaked out by this as imagine each person sleeping with atleast 3 other women???? surely the rebirth of an epidemic....I'm wondering shall i ever have sex again?? (just joking ........kind of )

time to

Have a bit of running around to do- upgrade phone, exchange a top, drop clothes at charity and drop refund in at bank.

Breakfast today is CocoPops and coffee...whilst watching Wanted Down Under.

I've just realised that since i can commit to writing on here everyday (and enjoy it) I will reintroduce writing towards a longer piece of work...just 200 words or so a day...so it doesn't side track me from uni work.....may get three chapters out of that after a while.

Better hurry up....

Hope you have as enjoyable a Monday as poss !!!

Nevermind- we did get quite a bit done today with a team effort- did a mini spring clean, he made me breakfast and got back to basics.

Later on visited his cousin who has a new 5 day old daughter. when I stepped into the house i remembered why I don't socialize with them normally. I wouldn't say i'm a snob but i do have quite strong opinions on things- like smoking around children!! <img src="/img/smilies/graymad.gif" alt=">:-(" class="middle" border="0"> Really makes me cross that parents put their children in harms way like that....they have immature lungs, immature immune systems which obviously isn't a great mix anyway. Smoking is one thing but smoking weed- ARGH!!!! one kid there- a 9 year old boy is really naughty so when he was playing up, i told him to say- "the smoking makes me naughty"....LOL i do hate to interfere.....My partner told me off as the kid will definitely say it- i ended up telling him off for telling Me off...I just hope those kids don't develop asthma or worse!

 Comments

Finished, J'ai finís, He terminado!!!!!

Thank you for your support everyone- I have finally completed my essay and am giving it in today!!! So i can enjoy some of the weekend- at least before the next assignment- such is t he world of the student nurse (this is very soon- no rest for the pleasant *sigh*)

As yet i have had no breakfast- I have not done the shopping yet- i feel i will perish from lack of juice/water so i guess it's coffee and a few red seedless grapes again.

Yesterday, was quite entertaining- I am due to qualify as a children's nurse this summer and went with my friend to an unnamed London hospital (i may blog about my work so must preserve confidentiality)in a very posh area (not hinting at all)...we loved the hospital and both vowed to apply for jobs there. Starving we used our vouchers to get indian for lunch, taking it to go as we'd already bunked one lecture and didn't want to miss another....anywho, we got on the bus clutching our purchases (mine cold, hers hot)- considerately not eating on public transport, this oldish lady sat next to me muttering "oh the smell, of the smell"- literally, clipping her nose with her fingers and shooting murderous glances at us....How rude!! my friend and i laughed and decided to ignore her commotion- she soon got off two stops later.

Part 2 of the journey on the tube- we picked up an evening standard left behind, and i read the front page story out loud ( dozens of Romanian children freed after being forced to steal, pickpocket and beg)- My friend is Slovak and tells me about the neighboring countries and she absolutely detests Romanov gypsies- I couldn't remember that fact and ask " oh, isn't that where gypsies come from?" "hmmm-yes" my friend said " They are one of the poorest countries"
Next to her, a man evidently from Romania-butted in and said you should never judge a country you haven't been to- it is not poor everywhere. My friend replied, that she had in fact been there and the poverty was rife in rural areas. He conceded that.....but corrected us that gypsies came from everywhere...we conceded this....However, it was impossible to not to notice the gleaming Rolex on his wrist.....hmmmmmm

 Comments

Ramblings

Today - I missed breakfast, well, not entirely (1 coffee, scrambled egg and chunk of bread)but on here i did- no matter, i will ramble now to make up for it.

I felt like complete crap all day having fallen asleep after 2am but having to get up at 6am to finish off this essay- i should have known better than to trust my sleepy self- leave your work- you can finish it in the morning Ha! Did i ever......i did get to 2461 words just 500, i will will will DO IT today....so no more blogging please as you're all distracting me

Other things, it seems to be a very depressing week in general- Stabbings everywhere, impending recession, multiplying civilian casualties in war, earthquakes- death, gloom, death, death, doom- EVERYWHERE....I might give the news a bit of a wide berth for now- it's not good for my happy bubble and i don't want to get desensitized to the point i'm un-shockable (almost there but still destroyed by each teen death.) *sigh*

 Comments

Rude awakening

I have just left the warmth and comfort of my bed- it wasn't by choice.
My Fiancé, a worker of the night or baker to be exact,
saved us, saved us both from the extreme irritation of my alarm
by switching it off and jumping on me before snoring to sleep.

There was no exchange of bodily fluids and i waited,
approxiamately 9 minutes for my alarm to return-it didn't
so rather than be snored at i rolled out of bed, shut the door
turned the sky sports to BBC news and had a pee.
Since i have been forced to get up on time- i may
arrive to uni bang on time for a change-one can hope.

Breakfast today is coffee and 1 seedless red grape
i'm not yet ready for anything else but i did manage
to prepare my lunch for today-oh joy!
So i can save a whole £4.

My wedding dress went unsold. My essay now stands at 1826 words
which in fact is progress from 1500. At this pace,
Monday's deadline should be met. waffle waffle

 Comments

Breakfast

So i'm up and ready to do the blog thing before i go into uni and commit myself to 4 hours of droll background noise while i think of play & novel ideas. Today breakfast is red seedless grapes covered in strawberry shape yoghurt with a mug of Milo- ummmmm. That would be pmt's decision- i normally dont have the time or appetite for it.

I figure i'll just write on this thing everyday as soon as i get up- sort of like my morning pages so don't expect anything because it is likely that there will be little consistency, lots of disjointed/opinionated/random thoughts....so please enjoy.

It's amazing the things you will do to prevent yourself from doing what you are supposed to do- like my essay which has a deadline of 28/01/08. I am 50% done but instead have tidied the house, gone to church, read the mail on sunday from cover(s) to cover(s), registered on blog.co.uk and spontaneously decided to sell my wedding dress on ebay. The dress i haven't worn yet but i just didn't like the way it was looking at me. I've since changed my mind again and like it quite alot so i am rather hoping noone is willing to stump up the considerable price- thank god for reserve prices!
